About KLS Earthworks
The Owner and Founder of KLS, Doug Renton, began his career in earthworks after completing his BComm and MBA at the Universty of British Columbia. Early experiences included rough grading of subdivisions and roadworks such as twinning the Trans Canada Highway through Banff. In 1990, with only 2 employees and some small equipment, KLS developed a dominant role in the topsoil business and continues to provide bulk topsoil sales to many developers and landscapers in Calgary.
KLS has since grown to become a leader in the dynamic Calgary earthworks market including excavation of road interchanges, tower foundations, bridges, storm ponds and commercial building projects. KLS operates a fleet of late model excavators, trucks and other heavy equipment that allow us to handle numerous projects simultaneously throughout the city. Our reputation is the ability to move quickly and efficiently on large, challenging projects.
The Company has a versatile workforce that can provide Earthwork Solutions for safe and effective implementation with experienced Site Supervision. KLS is proud to have had their COR designation since 1995, multiple years of Work Safe Alberta awards and have participated in Contractor Associations for many years. All of our drivers and equipment operators are subjected to competency evaluations and “fitness for work” testing as a part of our comprehensive Safety Program.
